Zephyr Rail, a celebrated name in the railroad design and Construction Management industry, is seeking an experienced Scheduler with 10+ years of hands-on experience in project scheduling within the rail, transit, and transportation sectors. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules to support major infrastructure programs. This role requires advanced knowledge of project control tools, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of construction and engineering processes in transit-related projects.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage detailed, resource-loaded CPM (Critical Path Method) schedules for large-scale rail and transit projects
  • Interface with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather data, and forecast project milestones
  • Prepare monthly schedule reports, look-ahead schedules, time impact analyses (TIA's), and schedule recovery plans
  • Identify schedule risks and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in risk workshops and support the development of risk-adjusted schedules
  • Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to align schedules
  • Utilize software tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other scheduling reporting systems
  • Support project planning activities, including WBS development, baseline schedule creation, and recovery planning
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, local transportation agency standards, and industry best practices
 
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in scheduling, preferably on rail, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in Pimavera P6 and MS Project is required
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling methods, schedule logic, and delay analysis
  • Experience working with public agencies (e.g., LA Metro, Caltrans, BART. Sound Transit, etc.) is a plus
  • Familiarity with alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, CMGC, or P3 preferred
  • Ability to interpret design and construction documents, including drawings and specification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
  • PMP or PSP certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau is preferred
  • Ability to commute to the Los Angeles office daily - required
 
Salary Range: $135,000 - $208,000/annually
